Well Gustav came our way and left without causing to much damage to us. We were out of power for a few days which was miserably hot, not to mention LOUD with all the generators in the neighborhood running. DH returned to work on Wednesday but my office was out of power through Friday so I returned to work that following Monday. Only to catch up on a few things then start preparing for Ike.
Thursday we were told to lift everything off the floors and not to return Friday cause they predicted by Friday morning the storm surge would be here. I'm not sure when the waters moved in but as of Saturday noone could get to the office to see how high the water was. I only know that my office was indeed flooded and what the news has said which is noone is allowed into the port except key personnel. Hopefully soon life in southern Louisiana will return to normal if there is such a thing.
I've taken this time off to focus on planning a B-day party for Gav. Yep, that's right my baby boy will be TWO in just a couple of weeks. I am usually a planner, IMO, I should have been planning this party for weeks but I've only just started. Gav goes nuts over Blues Clues so I considered it a mission to fine some Blues Clues party supplies. After looking at Walmart, K-mart, Target, Party City, and Toys R Us with no luck I turned to the good ole internet. I was able to find a bunch of really cool things online then a friend referred me to another party store in Lafayette. I was thrilled to find all the things I needed there today and I'm one more step closer to feeling organized as far as this party goes.
Ry decided to join the winter bowling league and he had his first game Saturday. He has the same team as he did over the summer but they came up with a new team name. "Thunder and Lightening". We made a deal with Ry if he focused and did a good job on his bowling he would get something special and he did. He scored better than he did all summer. As his treat we gave him some Bakagan toys he had been wanting, that's his new favorite cartoon.
I guess that brings everything up to date and I will try to keep up on my blogging now that I'm not feeling so behind.
